Frequently asked questions about "Pee GreenTM"

MWD logoWhy is the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) of Southern California paying to retrofit urinals?

Waterfree urinals represent a significant conservation and money-saving opportunity for everyone in southern California. With continuing economic growth and increasing water crisis, it's imperative that water not be wasted in order to help business development and reduce the costs of doing business in southern California. Each waterfree urinal saves an average of 40,000 gallons of water per year, enough to fill nine tank trucks. Compared to other water-conserving indoor plumbing devices, waterfree urinals are reported to be the most cost-effective retrofit devices available. This program allows a significant number of building owners in the MWD area to take advantage of this technology and make a direct contribution toward our area's water conservation goals, with no out of pocket cost to building owners/operators.

What will this cost me?

Nothing. Zero. Zip. That's right. Qualified participants will receive free waterfree urinals installed in place of each existing manual or automatic flush urinal. There is no cost to you.

What's covered?

This program will cover the entire cost of the waterfree urinals, their installation, and training for maintenance crews. There will be no out-of-pocket expense to the customer with typical plumbing (participating customers who have floor mounted units, code violations in plumbing systems, or with installations that require repair of wall coverings, will be responsible for additional installation costs).

How long does it take?

After contacting Falcon Waterfree Technologies, a representative will review your request and arrange a convenient installation appointment. Urinal retrofits are typically completed in a couple hours and scheduled at your convenience as not to not disrupt your business operation. The only requirement for the program is for program participants to participate in pre- and post-installation surveys for data collection purposes.
